Enagás signs a collaboration agreement with the Spanish Metrology Centre, part of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism

• Enagás' High Pressure Meter Calibration Laboratory (LACAP) has been designated an Associated Laboratory of the Spanish Metrology Centre (CEM)

• The CEM, which reports to the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, is the leading technical body in the field of metrology in Spain.

Enagás today signed a framework agreement with the Spanish Metrology Centre (CEM) in the sphere of measurement. Under this agreement, the company's High Pressure Meter Calibration Laboratory (LACAP) has been designated an Associated Laboratory of the CEM.

The General Secretary of Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises, and President of the Spanish Metrology Centre, Begoña Cristeto; and the CEO of Enagás, Marcelino Oreja.

As a partner laboratory, Enagás' LACAP will collaborate in the field of metrology standards and share its know-how and technology in research projects. Enagás will also be involved in training and raising the profile of metrology and will contribute to improving Spain's metrology infrastructure.

LACAP
The High Pressure Meter Calibration Laboratory (LACAP) is located at Enagás' Central Laboratory in Zaragoza, where all the gas measurement services provided by the company are coordinated. The LACAP is one of the few centres of its kind in the world. It also leads the way in natural gas meter calibration and has been accredited by the National Accreditation Office (ENAC) since 2011.

CEM

The Spanish Metrology Centre (CEM), which reports to the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, is the leading technical body in the field of metrology in Spain. Its functions include the custody and maintenance of national measurement unit standards, the setting up and development of national calibration chains and conducting research and development in the field of metrology.
