• The company has a 16% stake in the construction of TAP, an 871-km pipeline which will link Greece, Albania and Italy
• TAP was named a Project of Common interest (PCI) by the European Union in October 2013 and is critical to integrating the European gas market.
• The project forms part of the Southern Gas Corridor, designed to supply Europe with natural gas from the Caspian Sea
• This gas pipeline will be a complementary supply channel to the interconnection with France via the Pyrenees (MidCat), which is also a PCI.
The EU Climate Action and Energy Commissioner, Miguel Arias Cañete, today concluded the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project presentation meeting in Madrid.

This working meeting, held at the Headquarters of the European Commission in Spain and where the main topics were Europe's energy interconnections and Spain's role in this context, was also attended by other dignitaries including the Secretary of State for the European Union, Iñigo Méndez de Vigo, the Secretary of State for Energy, Alberto Nadal, and the Chairman of Enagás, Antonio Llardén.
The TAP project, an 871-kilometre gas pipeline that will link Turkey with Italy via Greece and Albania, was presented by the CEO of Enagás, Marcelino Oreja Arburúa, and the Managing Director of TAP, Ian Bradshaw.
