Demand for natural gas in Spain reached another summer record of 1,227 Gigawatt hours (GWh) yesterday, September 7th. The record for gas demand for electricity generation purposes was also surpassed, with 616 GWh.
Summer demand for natural gas reached a new record high of 1,227 GWh yesterday for the second consecutive day, due to the high temperatures currently being experienced in the country.
Of this quantity, 616 GWh were destined to the electricity market, thus surpassing the previous record of 610 GWh registered on September 6th.
Natural gas demand yesterday was up 5% on the record for last summer, 1,166 GWh registered on July 21st, 2005.
