The National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC) stresses that “the Spanish Gas System is the most flexible in Europe” thanks to the regulation it has designed and which “reinforces the energy security of the entire region”. In this line, he recalled that in 2022, Spanish regasification plants tripled vessel loading operations to Europe.
The agency also highlighted that “the interconnection with France to re-export gas to Europe reached historic highs with episodes of 100% contracting”, and that thanks to the high supply of LNG (liquefied natural gas) in our country, prices have been systematically reduced compared to other European countries.
It also recalls that in 2022, for the first time, gas began to be exported to Morocco from the Spanish Gas System.
