  • The Director of Sustainability and Climate Action, José Miguel Tudela, advocated that "the great challenges of sustainability are the great challenges of Enagás"

Enagás' Director of Sustainability and Climate Action, José Miguel Tudela, has showcased the publication of the final list of European Projects of Common Interest (PCI), which includes the Spanish hydrogen infrastructure and H2Med, presented by Enagás. "H2Med will connect the Iberian Peninsula with the consumption centres in Europe, in Germany, transporting green hydrogen. Furthermore, the development of the Spanish Hydrogen Backbone Network to communicate consumers and producers is another reality that is already on the table", he remarked at the ’Sustainability 2024: commitment vs. action’ event, held this Tuesday in Madrid in the framework of Executing Opportunities, a Europa Press project with McKinsey & Company.

Green hydrogen, he stressed, "represents a very clear opportunity for Spain to become an energy hub " and, in his words, "is key to developing a sustainable energy model already being implemented by REPowerEU".

The Director of Sustainability and Climate Action stated that "the great challenges of sustainability are the great challenges of Enagás" and defended the importance of facing these challenges with "concrete actions". "One of the levers of our management model is transversality, it is important that these actions are distributed in all areas and at all levels of the company". Moreover, he stressed that it is essential that these actions are integrated into the strategy and are operational in each company, using tools to identify opportunities that contribute to the company's purpose.

José Miguel Tudela was joined by McKinsey & Company partner, Bruno Esgalhado; the Director of Corporate Resources at AEDAS Homes, Esther Duarte; the Director of Sustainability at Aena, Ana Salazar; the Director of Sustainability, Health and Safety at GSK Spain, Ana Ferrón; the Director of Sustainability of MAPFRE Spain, Alvaro Guitart; the Director of Sustainability and CSR of Mutua, Concepción Navarro; the Global Director of Sustainability of Telefónica, Elena Valderrábano and the Director of Management and IR of Europa Press, Martín de Cabiedes, as moderator.
