  • The CEO of Enagás attends the High Level Policy Conference in Brussels as a representative of the five TSO promoters of H2med.

Enagás CEO Arturo Gonzalo stressed that the European H2med corridor will be a reference for the development of the future European hydrogen backbone. “H2med is the most advanced hydrogen corridor in Europe,” he said during his speech on 20 November at the High Level Policy Conference of the European Hydrogen Week held in Brussels where he gave the Closing Remarks. Arturo Gonzalo spoke on behalf of the five TSOs promoting the H2med corridor (REN, Enagás, Teréga, GRTgaz and OGE).

The CEO underlined that the H2med corridor, which will transport 10% of the EU’s renewable hydrogen consumption from 2030, is key to Europe's strategic autonomy.

“Establishing a European hydrogen backbone connecting consumers and producers is probably the most important step for Europe to succeed in its decarbonisation pathway,’ he said at the closure of the session After the EU power grid action plan, time for a hydrogen grid strategy?

The Enagás CEO added that the H2med non-binding Call for Interest launched on 7 November is an “unprecedented milestone” for a pan-European hydrogen corridor.

The initiative aims to identify the infrastructure needs of stakeholders in the European hydrogen value chain and is open until 18 December. The results will be presented in the first quarter of 2025. The European Hydrogen Week, organised by Hydrogen Europe, the European Commission and the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, took place from 18 to 22 November.
