Technical Workshop: hydrogen land mobility

Renewable gases
12/12/2024 - 10:00. Madrid

The Hydrogen Technology Observatory organized this technical webinar on ground mobility to share technological innovations driven by companies and scientific institutions to decarbonise transport, especially in sectors where electrification is not feasible, such as heavy road transport.

Eugenia Sillero, Secretary General of Gasnam-Neutral Transport, collaborating partner of this event, opened and moderated the workshop. A representative from the CMT - Clean Mobility & Thermofluids Research Institute of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and Volvo Trucks Spain shared the pros and cons of using fuel cells versus internal combustion engines.

Westport Fuel Systems presented a real case study of the first hydrogen refrigerated trailer truck in Spain, a technology available to be installed in any combustion engine vehicle. This would be a step towards the decarbonization of transport and the improvement of air quality, due to the elimination of NOx. The event was closed by Igor Pagazaurtundua, coordinator of the Hydrogen Technology Observatory.
